Haitian_child.jpgThis year has been a devastating one for Haiti, a country plagued by natural disasters, shortages of food, and extreme poverty. The calamities are endless. While some have thought of giving up on that small nation they claim to be hopeless, but others like you can make a big difference in the lives of its people who need you badly during this Holiday Season.

The Batey Relief Alliance offers a cost-effective way, away from stores’ hustles, and private into your quiet home environment, to support one of its many projects, while knowing that your tax-deductible dollar gift will save a precious life. Starting 2009, we will address the socio-economic and health needs of 40,000 people living on the edge in the country’s most impoverished border communities through our programs in Women’s Empowerment, Hunger Prevention, Child Healthcare, Water/sanitation, and Preventive Health Education.

DON’T GIVE UP YET ON HAITI. ITS PEOPLE NEED YOU.

Each year, more than 80,000 people living on the edge inside the Dominican Republic’s impoverished sugarcane communities—known as bateyes, urban barrios and rural slums receive at our medical clinics critical medical care and essential medicines to treat the many diseases they have.

Small children and adults who are HIV+ or living with HIV/AIDS receive the caring attention and antiretroviral therapy they need to combat the deadly virus. We also make sure that their living environment is adequate for them and their family members to survive and grow by giving them access to clean water, food and micronutrients, dental and eye care, education and small business opportunities to become self-sufficient.
